UPSC Combined Geo Scientist 2024

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released the admit cards for the Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination on June 14. Candidates who passed the preliminary exam and registered for the Main exam can download their admit cards from the official website of UPSC at Candidates must enter their roll number or registration ID and date of birth to access the admit cards.

The UPSC Combined Geo-Scientist Main exam is scheduled for June 22 and 23. The preliminary exam took place on February 18.

Combined Geo-Scientist Main Admit Card 2024: How to Download

Step 1: Open the official website of UPSC i.e.,

Step 2: Click on “Combined Geo-Scientist (Main) Examination, 2024.”

Step 3: Now choose the option “E-Admit cards for various examinations of UPSC.”

Step 4: A new page will be displayed on the screen. Click on the download button.

Step 5: Login using your credentials such as Registration ID or roll number and submit.

Step 6: Download your e-admit card and don’t forget to take the printout for future use.

Candidates are suggested to keep their admit cards safe till the announcement of the final results of the Combined Geo-Scientist Examination. Also, no paper admit card will be provided for this examination.

Candidates must bring a printed copy of their e-Admit Card to the assigned venue for the examination. They must also bring a valid photo ID card, the number of which is specified in the e-Admit Card, for each session of the examination.

Candidates must also bring two identical photographs (one for each session) in case the photograph on the e-admit card is not clear, blurred, or not present. They should also carry a photo ID card and a printed e-Admit Card to the examination hall. An undertaking for appearing at the examination is also a must. It is also important to note that candidates will not be allowed to appear at any other examination hall except the one mentioned in the e-Admit Card.

Preliminary Exam: This exam consists of two objective papers. Paper 1 is based on General Studies, while Paper 2 covers the relevant scientific discipline.

Main Exam: This exam comprises three descriptive papers that assess the candidates’ in-depth knowledge of the subject.

After the main exam, candidates who pass will be selected for the interview round. Every syllabus of the paper matches the Master’s level curriculum in fields like Geology, Geophysics, Chemistry and Hydrogeology. Candidates are advised to prepare for all the topics and sections mentioned in the syllabus.

The recruitment drive aims to fill a total of 56 vacancies for the Geological Survey of India under the Ministry of Mines and the Central Ground Water Board under the Ministry of Jal Shakti, Department of Water Resources.
