India Post Karnataka Circle Recruitment 2024
India Post has announced vacancies for the post of Staff Car Driver (ordinary grade) for Karnataka Circle. The official notification reveals a total of 27 vacancies for Staff Car Driver, General Central Service Gr.-C, Non-Gazetted, and Non-Ministerial posts. Selected candidates for the post will receive a salary ranging from Rs 19,900 to Rs 63,2000 (as per Pay Level 2, under 7th CPC) plus admissible allowances. The last date for application submission is May 14. The recruitment drive aims to fill 27 vacancies for staff car drivers directly.
The notification specifies four vacancies in North Karnataka – one each in Chikkodi, Kalaburagi, Haveri, and Karwar; 15 vacancies in Bengaluru; and one each in Mandya, Puttur, Shivamogga, Udupi, and Kolar in South Karnataka, along with three vacancies in Mysuru.
Eligibility criteria and age limits for staff car drivers are outlined in the official notice. Candidates must possess a valid driving license for light and heavy motor vehicles, knowledge of Motor Mechanism, and the ability to rectify minor vehicle defects. Additionally, applicants should have at least three years of experience in driving light and heavy motor vehicles and should have passed class 10 from a recognized Board or Institute.
For age eligibility, candidates should be between 18 and 27 years old. Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Scheduled Castes (SC) candidates have a relaxation of five years, while Other Backward Classes (OBCs) have a relaxation of three years. Government employees can apply up to the age of 40, while ex-servicemen receive a three-year relaxation.
